Our Pastor

Shell has been married to Missy since 1986 and they reside in the Atlanta Metro. They have two wonderful adult children both with an incredible spouse each and five beautiful grandchildren. In February, 1982, after graduating from high school, Shell began a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and shortly afterwards recognized the call of God upon his life to enter the ministry. Since 1986, Shell has served churches in Louisiana and Georgia as a youth pastor, worship leader, business administrator, senior associate pastor and lead pastor.

In 2003, Shell completed his undergraduate degree, graduating Summa Cum Laude and receiving the honor of Co-Valedictorian, from Beulah Heights University in Atlanta, GA. During this time, he maintained a 4.0 grade point average for each semester, was a member of The President’s List each semester and was selected as the 2003 Student of the Year by the college faculty. He is also a member of The National Dean’s List, a member of Who’s Who Among College Students and is a member of the Delta Epsilon Chi National Honor Society. In 2009, Shell received his Master of Arts degree from Beulah Heights University. Shell’s future plans include completing a Master of Divinity degree and pursuing a Doctorate in Ministry.

In addition to his family life and pastoral duties, Shell has been privileged to serve the following organizations in various roles: Georgia District of the Assemblies of God, Beulah Heights University, Smyrna Public Safety Foundation, SuperSmyrna, First Priority Ministries, Steering Committee for the City of Smyrna’s Vision for the Community, Smyrna Citizen Corp Council, the chaplain for the Smyrna Fire Department, head chaplain for the Smyrna Police Department, as a chaplain to the City of Smyrna, GA employees and as the chaplain for the Smyrna Business Association and as a member of the Code 7 Foundation.

About the book

Serving as a secondary leader – whether in the worlds of church, business, or education – is an important and vital task. It’s Not Good for Leaders to Lead Alone! is a compilation of what I learned, both practically and Biblically, during 18 years while serving in associate pastoral roles coupled with what I have since learned over the past 19 years serving as a lead pastor. The focus is on training secondary leaders how to better serve their primary leader both inside and outside the church. Dr. John Maxwell says, “Everything rises and falls on leadership” and I am hoping my book will become a tool which you can use to better develop the leaders who are serving with you.
