The “Why” Behind The “What” from Pastor Osbon
As many of you are aware, I announced recently that the board, staff and I have reached the decision to make a strategic transition to shift our ministry on Wednesday nights to Sunday nights. While there are many realities which led us to this conclusion, the most important factor is that we sense that this is at the leading of the Lord. That is to say, over the past few months, we have all met several times to discuss the fact that traffic, work, school, sports and other dynamics make it difficult for many of you to be a part of the Wednesday night meals, services and ministries. Truthfully, we wish that everyone who attends on Sunday mornings could attend on Wednesday nights but that simply isn’t the case and we know that those factors are at least partially the reason.
On Sunday nights, the good news is that the traffic in Atlanta isn’t as bad, fewer people work, not as many school and sports teams practice/play plus we will be starting and ending one hour earlier than we do on Wednesday nights! All of these factors, we believe, will result in more people being able to attend and more people being able to serve on Sunday nights. Additionally, this could be the perfect service for you to invite people to since it’s not early on Sunday mornings when some people like to sleep in or relax and it doesn’t end too late in the evening for those who have to get up early the next morning. Please take a moment to watch this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CPiHqYkjY5U which will further explain the “why” behind the “what” of this decision which we have both carefully and prayerfully made.
In His Service,
